What You Should Know About Barbara Levy

A nationally recognized speaker and resource to not-for-profit executives, boards and organizations, Barbara Levy is best known for helping organizations transition from their “business-as-usual” model to a new level of excellence and effective operation.  The experiences of 37 years with well over 70 organizations have provided Ms. Levy with insights and expertise in motivating boards and maximizing an organization’s potential.

 

In response to the turbulence and uncertainty in our environment, Ms. Levy has most recently focused her keynote messages on evaluating current challenges, focusing on achievable goals and communicating effectively with constituents.

 

Credentials

Barbara Levy is one of fewer than 100 to earn the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) credential issued by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).  She is a published author of works including The NSFRE* Fund-Raising Dictionary that defines the profession.  The second edition is now available online as the AFP Fundraising Dictionary.  As senior author, she co-authored Successful Special Events: Planning, Hosting, Evaluating. Most recently, Barbara was a contributing author for the latest Wiley/AFP publication, Ethical Fundraising: A Guide to Nonprofit Boards and Fundraisers. In 1998 Ms. Levy received international recognition when she received the Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award at the International Conference of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

 

*National Society of Fund Raising Executives is now known as the AFP or Association of Fundraising Professionals, an international organization.

Service

Ms. Levy’s current volunteer activities include service as Chair of the Tucson Symphony Board of Trustees, Chair of the AFP International Ethics Committee and member of the AFP International Board of Directors.
